A wonderful Fall day was spent on the Rivière Rouge in Quebec. You never know what the weather will be like in the Fall but with temperatures hanging around 12c and a clear day forecast 6 members headed out for a paddle. If you’ve paddle the Rouge before you know that there’s a bit of a current so heading off into the current we paddled upstream at a casual pace until we reached a sandy beach next to a set of small rapids. After a leisurely lunch we enjoyed the sunshine and then started back. What took about two hours of paddling against the current turned into a quick one hour return paddle.
