Six members of the kayak club, Mike, Lucien, Kim, Bonnie, Donna, and Miles visited a new launch north of Casselman on the South Nation River. What looked like it could be a cool day turned into an excellent day for kayaking. Sunny with little wind we paddled on. Today’s paddle was at an easy pace about 11.5 km and 3 hours long. This spot would be even better in a few days or weeks when more of the surrounding trees have changed to their fall colours.
After a great long weekend last year it was decided to stay at Palmerston Lake for eight days this year. This years participants were Kim, Lucien, Bonnie, Lenny, Irene, Mike, and Miles. The cottage at Palmerston lake is surrounded by 153 lakes all within a short drive. Day were spent kayaking on Palmerston Lake, Crotch Lake, Brule Lake, Mosque Lake, and Canonto Lake. There was plenty of great food and games of Pictionary, Phase 10, Uno, and Dominoes played with Miles getting the luck of the week. Don't miss out on the fun next year as a week long trip will be planned for September 5 to 13, 2020
