The Nation River
The Nation River could be considered the paddling home of the Chesterville Kayak Club. Running north into the Ottawa River through many towns in Eastern Ontario many trips have been taken along the route. The river runs south to north mainly through farmland, small towns, and forests.

Description: A small conservation area has a large shoreline and a dock to launch. Large picnic area with washrooms. Paddlers can go in either direction along the Nation River. North bound brings you to the Ottawa River. South bound brings you to a set of rapids in the town of Plantagenet.

Description: Boat launch with parking and washrooms. Close to restaurants and other shops in Casselman. Paddling south you can link up with the Castor River or the Little Castor River approximately 2.5km downstream. If you enjoy small twisty rivers the Little Castor River is made for you.

The preferred route is paddling south where you can link up with the Payne River another smaller river with many twists and turns and a favorite of many club members.
